Hussif made for me

Hi everyone I wanted to share a couple of pics with you one was the previous post from Pam on a christmas cracker I received and the other is this one from Melisa who is my ss from crazyquilting group that I belong to. She has been a wonderful ss to get me through this year and always sent me wonderful cheerful gifts and dropped in on me all through the year with notes and stories that helped me get through this stormy year. Anyway she made me a beautiful Hussif. I have always wanted one and thought people who had them must have been very special people and when I opened it I cried...Thank you so much Melisa it started my New Years just wonderfully. Here are some pics of the beautiful hussif that she made for me.....

Charlie Kissed Me bom

Ok here is a pic of my number 1 block for a bom quilt that a friend (Raven) and I are doing together. Now do not look at the leaves yet or certain other things cause it is not all stitched down yet it is just put together,,,,,but it will be soon. The bom is called "Charlie Kissed me" and it is based on a ladies memories of her life in the mid 1800's,,enjoy I will post a pic again when it is all stitched down.

Girl Gang (Jan Patek)

I finally found the picture I took of the first girl gang quilt I am doing. I go to both a group of quilters once a month and a guild once a month. Well Joanne our hostess for the group meeting has taught "girl gang" for years and just in case she does not teach it after this year I wanted to learn from what I consider one of the best teachers for a Jan Patek quilt so this is my first block. It was started last month I just could not find my picture...lol And I can't do number 2 u ntil I finish my first block and start my second on a bom that my friend and I are doing together and it is called "Charlie Kissed me" So hopefully I will be posting the first block on Saturday. But for now here is my girl gang block one.

I joined in on Wendy's pay it forward on her blog http://stitchduchessscrazysanequiltingworld.blogspot.com/ and I was one of the lucky ones.
Here are the rules. It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s where acts and deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, in the hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on. All you have to do is be one of the first 2 to leave a comment on this post and I will make a gift and send it out to you within 12 months. Then in return you will promise to do the same thing on your blog. Just add the pic of the PIF and a little description about how it works and you are ready to go. Some come on and join me in "paying it forward"!!!!!! You must be one that loves to receive handmade gifts...

Why I want to learn to blog

Just posting a little note and wanted to add the reason for my blog. I did have a blog but so many people helped me to set it up, I mean literally that i didn't get a chance to see how to do it myself and now I will get the chance to learn, yeah for me. Also this is a suprise for a close friend who wonders why I am not posting to my other blog. I have not told her I am creating one from scratch she will be very suprised....and I know I will also. Since I do not have anything on it yet I wanted to post a few pics of hand stitching and stuff that I do just to add some color. I can't wait to get started, can u tell. These are just some stuff I did awhile ago: a pinkeeper, crazyquilt stocking, a purse that I did some decorating on, a beaded paisley and my first penny rug.
