Leigh-Anne's School Project
As some of you already know I am helping my daughter put a school project together for their fund raiser. What she wanted to do was use their school colors, which we did. She traced all her 2nd graders hands and we cut them out of orange felt then added them to white Kona and I am sashing each block with black. Now for the border I have a small black & white print that has abc's all over it and that is how we will finish the top off. This has to be done by the 3rd week in February so we have gotten this far.....

My Daughters 2nd grade quilt project
My daughter teaches 2nd grade and we are starting a project for their auction at the end of February. She had all the children draw on orange felt, their hand. We are going to cut the picture of their hand out and place it on a white block border it and then add the black and white "abc" fabric around it. Boy do they have tiny hands so I will just do a stitch around the hand and probably finish it off with stitch in the ditch. I am open for suggestions if anyone might want to share. We only have about 5 weeks to put it together and their are 22 hands so I am trying to think of a quick but nice way of putting it all together. So this is a picture of in the beginning.

Lyn G's replacement wedding block
I was suppose to have a friend come over today but she called and is not feeling well so will not be here. So yesterday I received a green edmar thread that I have been waiting for to finish Lyn's replacement block. I wanted this green for the butterfly and it finally came in a few days ago. Needless to say I finished it and it will be winging its way back to Lyn a of tomorrow. I hope you like it Lyn and I hope they like it also. It was a learning experience and I enjoyed stitching it.

My Daughters Fabric Basket
My Daughter, Leigh-Anne has wanted a fabric basket for a long time. So I took a little course back in October so I could make her one for Christmas. It turned out very nice I thought and she like it too. It is a wonderful gift to give a little time consuming but worth it in the end. Well she took it home and I forgot to get a picture so she did email me a few and I thought I would share.

Finished challenge block for "2010"
In my CQI group we have a challenge each month for the year and many are making a block or 2 and then adding whatever the challenge is thru the month. This is the first year, yeah, that I have put a challenge block together with the good intention of doing each month. The block is 14.5" square and this months challenge was fans and curves. So it took me awhile but I finally figured the fan out, how to butt up the velvet next to the other fabic, which is the curved piecing. I also added lace to the fan and painted a little of the lace with luminere fabric paint. This was with the help of the other CQI members who posted about how they did their fans and curves or posted places to go to find info so "thank you" all very much for your help and now I am looking forward to working on this block each month with the excitement of seeing the finished result.
